The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows provinces and territories across Canada to select skilled workers to help strengthen their economies and fill labour market needs. Each province and territory has different streams, which are simply immigration programs that may target certain groups or types of skilled workers. Whether you must apply through express entry or non-express entry will depend on the stream you are applying to. Every applicant must pass a medical exam and get a police check as well. There is not a provincial nominee program available in Quebec or Nunavut. You should apply for this program if you:
- Have the education, skills, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a particular province or territory
- Want to live in a specific province or territory (with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut)
- Want to become a permanent resident of Canada
